On-Farm Technology Training and Support

Technology Only Works If Your Whole Farm Knows How to Use It
Farm technology investments frequently fail not due to equipment malfunction, but because end users lack adequate training. Common issues include camera systems that are not regularly monitored, applications accessible only to a single individual, and monitoring tools that are abandoned after initial use due to insufficient understanding. Wetaskiwin Agri-Tech Ltd. incorporates comprehensive training as a standard component of every installation. Regardless of whether we have installed your monitoring system, connectivity infrastructure, or record-keeping tools, or you are utilizing equipment from another provider, we deliver on-site, practical training to ensure all users, including family members, are proficient in operating the technology.

Benefits of On-Farm Technology Training

Technology delivers its greatest value when everyone on the farm knows how to use it with confidence. Through practical, hands-on training, your team becomes more comfortable operating cameras, monitoring systems, mobile apps, and digital tools, leading to greater day-to-day efficiency. As a result, your investment delivers stronger returns because the technology is used consistently rather than sitting idle. In addition, basic troubleshooting skills help reduce downtime and allow minor issues to be resolved quickly before they affect operations. Most importantly, ongoing support and refresher sessions help everyone stay confident as technology evolves, ensuring your farm continues to benefit from every system season after season.

What’s Included in This Service

On-Site Assessment

We walk your yard and barns with you to identify where monitoring matters most, calving pens, feed and water areas, entry points, and high-traffic zones, and map out a system that fits your operation and budget.

Remote Viewing Setup

Live feeds configured on your phone or tablet, so you can check the calving pen from the kitchen table or the field.

On-Farm Training

We don’t just install and leave. We walk you and your family through the system so everyone on the farm knows how to use it with confidence.

Weatherproof, low-light cameras positioned for clear visibility in calving barns, loafing sheds, and yard areas, wired or wireless depending on your infrastructure.

Environmental & Access Monitoring

Temperature checks, ventilation monitoring, and water-level or access alerts added where they make practical sense for your herd.

Seasonal Support Packages

Ahead of calving, lambing, or winter housing, we help you test and tune your system so it’[s ready when you need it most.

Camera Installation

Why This Matters

Farm technology adoption doesn’t fail because the tools are bad. It fails when people don’t feel confident using them. A trained team checks the calving camera without a second thought. A trained family member logs a spray application because it takes ten seconds, not ten minutes of confusion. Training is what turns an installed system into a system that actually gets used, day after day, season after season.

Why Producers Choose Us

Hands-on, not hands-off

We train in person, on your equipment, on your farm.

Training isn’t limited to the person who signed the invoice.

Everyone included
Ongoing, not one-time

Refreshers and troubleshooting support are available as your needs change.

Practical explanations

No technical jargon, just clear guidance that sticks.

Can you train us on equipment you didn’t install?

Yes. Whether your monitoring system, connectivity setup, or record-keeping tools were installed by us or another provider, we offer on-site training on your existing equipment. If your farm already has technology that nobody’s fully comfortable using, that’s exactly the gap this service is meant to close.

A standard session runs a half-day and is designed for everyone involved in day-to-day farm operations, not just the person who booked it. We train family members and staff together on the same equipment they’ll actually be using, so questions get answered on the spot instead of getting relayed secondhand later.

You’re not on your own. We offer troubleshooting support for issues like a dropped connection, a confusing app update, or a device that starts acting up, so you have somewhere to turn instead of guessing or digging through a manual.

Training is included as standard with every installation we do, but it’s also available as its own service starting at $450. So if you already have working equipment and just need your team properly trained on it, you can book that directly without needing a new install.

Farm technology tends to get used in bursts, heavily during calving, seeding, or harvest, and less in between, which is when confidence with the system tends to fade. We schedule refresher sessions ahead of these critical periods specifically to reinforce proficiency before you actually need to rely on it, rather than relearning under pressure.
